~7~0~0The story so far...
You wake up in a dark alley, and after looking around a bit, realise that
nothing is familiar to you. After your head clears from one hell of a
headache you start playing with some of your gizmos. Your watch doesn't work.
And neither do any of your Global positioning units. You begin to think
something is definatly wrong. Clambering to your feet, still not feeling your
best, you decide to go and check things out. Stumbling into the street you
come across a rubbish bin, looking in the bin starts to shed some light on
your disolutions.
Not wanting to believe what you've seen you take the peice of paper
out of the bin, and rush back into the alley. Reading the page you
discover your not in your favourite crime ridden little Cansis. But instead
you discover your in 1984, 15 years ahead of your time.
All of a sudden the silence is broken with machine gun fire, something you've
grown used to over the years. Quickly you reach into you weapons bag only
to discover your personal protection toys are missing. Not wanting to feel
unprotected you go in search of some replacements.
After hours of carfull navigation, to miss stray bullets, you come across a
pile of dead bodys. All the bodys are about 2 weeks into decay, and are
giving off the worst smell, you've tickled your nose hairs with. Looking
carefully over the pile, you can see a collect of small pistols and explosive
weapons. You pick them up, sorting through a few legs and fingers, and run
for what you think is a hidding spot...
Instead you imerge from a small, once neighbourly, cluster of bulidings into
a City full of smog and small arms fire. Your stupid enough to stand still
for five seconds and you cop a hit to the shoulder. You look at the few
weapons you have and hoping there enough to help you survive, you start
firing back into the streets...
You hear a scream, and knowing your the one that did the damage to the victim
you realise your life is going to be revolving around one lone task. To
survive as long as you can against the dangerous masses around you...
~D~1~0 No Man's Land v1.0 shareware released in 95...
Description: First of all people with no friends should not be playing this
game. No Man's land is specifically designed for 2 players, and before you
even think of it NO! we will not write a one player version. Ok description.
No Man's Land is quite simply the frag fest to beat all frag fests.
The aim of the game is insane destruction, complete annhilation
of your opponent of course, yeah and not forgetting pointless random anarchy.
~E~1~0Weapon List:
~E~0~0Throughout noman's land your arsenal will me composed of.
~9~0~0Machine Gun:
This weapon offers the lest destructive force. This weapons offers good speed
and painfull death to your opponent, and requires resonable aiming accuracy.
~9~0~0Grenade:
This weapon is primarily designed to blow the living crap out of the enemy.
It doesn't require much accuracy but when it hits, it hits hard.
~9~0~0Land Mines:
The undetecable menace. Laying a mine will not hurt you, but if your
attacker comes along... A mine offers similar strength to the grenade,
but in a hidden form.
~9~0~0Molotov Cocktail:
When thrown (not shaken or stirred), this little gem will send Napalm
strength fire flying onto anything within an area of a 3x3 grenade explosion,
and leaves your nemesis with a hell of a hangover.
~9~0~0Time Bomb:
The Ulitimate weapon. Offering a complete game area clean-up (YES, you WILL
hit him with this) the time bomb tops of a pretty fine arsenal, And gives
you the power to really reach out and touch someone. And the catch?
Yep, there's always one. You get slightly hurt in the process, unless of
course your lucky enough to get to the bomb shelter in time.
~E~1~0Other Games by Novalight
Novalight Tetris: Not your average tetris game, from Novalight, expect a hell
of a lot more! Like a kickass soundtrack and deadly raytraced backdrops.
Not to mention some of the most efficient coding this side of Microsoft way..
If you've ever liked any tetris clone then this version will impress you no
end.
~7~1~0REQUIREMENTS:
E~0~0
IBM PC 386 or above. (Preferably a 486 or above)
VGA video card.
You need EMS loaded ie include this line in your config.sys
DEVICE=C:\DOS\EMM386 RAM
A soundcard would be good too, 16bit stereo for best results.
~F~1~0Who Are Novalight Software:
The NovaLight group is just a bunch of strugling Uni students, who in their
limited spare time manage to code a couple of games every now and then. Our
goal is to write stuff that we like rather than what everyone else likes.
Hopefully most other people will like it too.
All the members are pretty dedicated gaming veterans, and therefore know
what we (and most others) want from games. Within our limited, although
rapidly expanding programming experience we plan to produce some rather
impressive games.
Look out for us!
(Now's the time I mention that Nomans Land was written completely in Borland
Pascal 7.0 the mother tounge of any serious programmer :).
